The impact you have in this role
As Senior Control Systems Engineer you will have the opportunity to put your curiosity to good use and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in the world. Here's how to make an impact:
Project assumptions analysis, providing opinions on solutions proposed by machine suppliers and integrators and participation in the acceptance of such machines.
Design of control systems for industrial machines, within various technologies used in broad industrial automation
Support production sites by propose the technologies for automation of manufacturing processes, in close cooperation with specialists in technology, mechanics, maintenance, etc.
Budget and timeline estimation for part of the projects, related to machinery supply, particularly for automation systems
Participation in development of machine design process and definition EMEA standards
Participation in projects in Poland and in the EMEA region
Sharing of knowledge and experience, as well as personal carried development out through interesting tasks realization, the opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and skills of team members, usage of training platforms and many initiatives, focused on training and knowledge sharing
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Higher education - Engineering Degree in Automation / Robotics / Mechatronics or related field
Experience in the design and construction of industrial machinery and equipment and knowledge of automation software (Siemens and Rockwell) in terms of PLC and visualization, as well computer control networks knowledge; knowledge of the market of instrumentation and control components
Ability to translate the process requirements into control system architecture and algorithms, ability to read and understand technical documentation: electrical, IT structural, pneumatic, P&ID diagrams
Experience in design, commissioning, debugging and optimization of control systems and programs
Knowledge of safety systems and European directives related to machinery (high safety sensitivity is extremely important)
Ability to integrate well with the team, work closely with customers/suppliers groups to agree: scope and specification, development of requirements and review offers and proposed solutions. Manage delivery/installation/validation of equipment on time and within defined budget
English language at the C1 level, both spoken and written
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include
Skills of configuration and commissioning of vision systems
Ability to program industrial robots and cobots
Experience in one or more of automation technologies (e.g. assembling automation, discrete automation, continuous processes, batch process, motion control, HMI programming, web handling, extrusion, molding, etc.)
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 topics, data automation knowledge / experience (data acquisition, data analysis)
Experience in working in different cultural circles (working abroad)
German language at B1 level
Polish language at B1 level

Country Specifics:
Main workplace of employed person will be Poland – Wroclaw but employee will be part of regional, EMEA engineering team and will collaborate with members form multiply countries.
Employed person will be part of regional engineering team, and as a specialist, will be part of projects teams, that design and build industry production lines and machines, for internal 3M manufacturing needs.
Machines designed by our team realize many different processes, most often assembling automation, but also converting, web controlling, coating, rarely mixing and chemical processes.
We enable to hybrid work base, what means, that if no need, coming from current projects related tasks, employee can work from home. However the office is available as workplace as well
