Trinity Health Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery - Day Shift in Wilmington, Delaware

Description:

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the team on our Labor and Delivery floor!

Schedule: Part-time day shift 7:00 am -7:30 pm / Every other weekend and rotating holidays

Serving Wilmington community and Northern New Castle County, the Labor and Delivery floor at Saint Francis Hospital is a 9-bed unit. We care for various types of patients including but not limited to high-risk pregnancies and complications i.e. Gestational DM, HTN, PTL, multiple births. All Registered Nurses are educated to scrub and circulate for C-sections along with phlebotomy and IV start skills. Additionally, we have 24/7 anesthesia and OB availability. We have ongoing evidence-based initiatives instituted i.e. preterm labor assessment tool, prevention of primary C-Sections, severe HTN in pregnancy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completes a comprehensive assessment of women during the antepartum period experiencing complications of pregnancy including preterm labor, premature rupture of membranes, pregnancy-induced hypertension, diabetes, bleeding and infection.

  • Completes a comprehensive perinatal nursing assessment on pregnant women admitted to labor-delivery-recovery unit on admission.

  • Assesses the woman’s educational needs during the intrapartum period and provides appropriate information to the woman and her family.

  • Plans and delivers care to women who experience labor and birth without complications.

  • Plans and delivers care to women with perinatal and/or medical complications including pregnancy-induced hypertension, preterm labor, bleeding in pregnancy, and multiple gestations.

  • Provides supportive care to the woman and her family in situations involving fetal loss or fetal abnormalities.

  • Plans and delivers care to women who labor without analgesia/anesthesia.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware or valid temporary permit.

  • BSN preferred

  • BLS required; NRP within (6) months of employment

  • At least 2-3 years' experience in Labor and Delivery required.

  • RNC preferred.

  • Ability to scrub and circulate for C-sections
