Purpose:

As a Senior Benefits Analyst at Athene you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our employee benefits programs. Your expertise in health and welfare programs, retirement plans, disability insurance, and vendor relationships will contribute to the well-being of our workforce. Accountabilities:

  • Serve as primary contact and a subject matter expert on Athene’s health and welfare benefits programs, retirement plans (401k), leaves of absence, COBRA, and ACA.

  • Maintain and consistently develop a solid understanding of legislative compliance initiatives and reform that impacts employee benefits plans, programs, policies and reporting and disclosure requirements.

  • Coordinate daily benefits processing, including handling new employee enrollments, benefit election changes, terminations of coverage, COBRA, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, 401(k) distributions, loans, hardship withdrawals, and compliance testing.

  • Design and distribute materials for benefits new hire orientation programs, benefit program overview, annual open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.

  • Regularly lead new hire benefits sessions to educate employees about their options and help them to make informed decisions.

  • Assist in implementing new benefits and/or plan design changes including employee communication, HR systems testing, vendor management and auditing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 4+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant benefit administration experience.

  • Solid understanding of disability programs and FMLA administration.

  • Proficient in benefits administration, experience using Workday is a plus.

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong computer skills including knowledge Microsoft Office suite of products.
