Senior Site Reliability Engineer (hybrid)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineer to join our team as Tandigm's Senior Site Reliability Engineer.  You will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of our systems in a Microsoft Azure environment.  Your primary focus will be on monitoring, automation, and administration of Windows and Linux systems using Terraform and other automation tool sets.

Together, we will drive the continuous improvement of our infrastructure and deliver a seamless experience for our customers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain monitoring solutions for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) systems (Windows and Linux) systems in Microsoft Azure as well as application monitoring across a host of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications for availability and performance leveraging industry-standard tools and technologies including Azure Log Analytics.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated systems for deploying, scaling, and managing infrastructure resources using Terraform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software Development and DevOps to identify and implement monitoring and automation requirements based on operational requirements and business needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to system performance, scalability, and availability in both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Monitor system health, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system performance to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for system security, data protection, and disaster recovery in accordance with industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents to minimize downtime and resolve issues promptly.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in system administration, monitoring, automation, and cloud computing, particularly in the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
  • Contribute to the development of internal tools, scripts, and workflows to continuously improve efficiency and streamline operations.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or a similar role, with a focus on monitoring, automation, and administration of Windows and Linux systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management, ideally in a Microsoft Azure environment.

Required Qualifications: EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience and/or professional certification).

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant certifications in Microsoft Azure, Terraform, or related technologies.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies and practices (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and multi-cloud architectures a plus.

  • Ability and availability to travel independently or with team members as required.
