Neya is a leader in advanced robotics developing off-road autonomy for both commercial and defense customers. Our deep domain expertise spans semi-autonomy, autonomy, perception, and mission planning; all of which, support a wide range of DoD and commercial thrust areas. This position is hybrid and based in Warrendale, PA. Local candidates will receive preference.
We're seeking a Senior Software Development Manager who can use their coding experience, testing skills, and strong interpersonal skills to improve, and enhance the software development processes for teams of developers working on a range of autonomy, computer vision, and machine learning programs. This successful individual will have the opportunity to work on diverse robotics challenges facing the DoD and commercial markets, ranging from control of large construction equipment to 3D scene reconstruction, and self-driving off-road vehicles. You will develop a vision while collaborating with a strong team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to help drive critical architecture decisions within our machine learning and computer vision pipeline.
What You’ll Do
Investigate and evaluate current software development processes, new features and behaviors
Develop, maintain and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements and best practices
Set the technical direction and commonize our infrastructure
Encourage daily and long-term software quality practices at varied levels of production readiness, from research to production releases
Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results
Work on issues requiring an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
What We’re Looking For
A bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent in industry experience
7+ years of experience in Linux platform development in object-oriented C++
Proficient with publish/subscribe communication frameworks, especially ROS
Excellent debugging skills-both overall methodology as well as knowledge of available tools
Experience developing software at varied levels of production-readiness
Experience designing code that can be maintained at scale
Strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills
Experience leading software development processes, acting as a disciplined force across multiple projects
Familiarity with Node.js, React, Javascript, and Java is preferred but not required
