Splunk Senior Engineering Manager, Pipeline Infrastructure in WA, United States

Role Summary

The pipelines infrastructure team is one of our Indexing and Storage teams, part of our Data Platform division, focused on supporting our data loading/parsing/indexing pipelines which process the majority of data that comes into Splunk. As the leader of this team, you will be essential in crafting our future in this space, and facilitating collaboration across multiple internal engineering and customer teams. This role will enable you to shape the way we evolve a major piece of our core technology and transition it to a true platform for both our internal and external customers.

Must-have Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading projects requiring cross-team collaboration, by addressing concerns and ensuring balanced outcomes across the needs of all involved teams

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work across functions and across remote teams.

  • Passionate about good engineering practices, new technologies, and improving processes, and a consistent record of mentoring and growing team members.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • 10+ years of Software Engineering experience and recent 6+ years of experience managing engineering teams.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Experience with large Distributed Systems

  • Experience leading C++ or GoLang developers

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $203,200.00 - 279,400.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $182,880.00 - 251,460.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $162,560.00 - 223,520.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
