The Opportunity

The Senior Analyst reports to the testing manager and is responsible for executing the day-to-day testing activities of the Centralized Testing Team including establishing routines to execute the quarterly test plan and reporting of test results. The Senior Analyst will have a role in developing efficient and effective testing routines along with establishing key relationships within Compliance, Independent Risk Management and Business support partners at Ally. This role requires a working knowledge of Compliance and Operational risk with demonstrated ability to identify, communicate, and escalate gaps in processes and/or regulatory issues for remediation. This position requires three days in the office and two remote workdays.

The Work Itself

  • Implement the Test Plan by establishing a strong routine, creating data populations, test scripts, and completing all assigned testing within the established quarter.
  • Build relationships with and lead discussions with key risk, support, and partners.
  • Lead walkthroughs with support partners and business line contacts.
  • Identify potential risks, exceptions, gaps or issues through test execution.
  • Complete supporting documentation to include test work-papers, exception logs, and reporting and upload to appropriate system of record.
  • Effectively communicate to leadership, risk support partners and the Business Line when potential exceptions have been identified.
  • Monitor and maintain issue management expectations including documentation, timeliness of updates and validation of remediation plan.
  • Complete all assigned trainings on time.
  • Seek additional opportunities to gain knowledge to support testing role and career path.
  • Strive to achieve the highest accuracy of testing and maintain adherence with all applicable policies.
  • Participate in timely responses to regulatory exams and internal audit requests.
  • Stay informed of relevant changes through emerging risk, industry trends and regulatory changes.

The Skills You Bring

  • +3 years of validated experience in the brokerage services industry, solid understanding of operations/trading/options preferred.
  • FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 are required.

  • FINRA Series 24 and knowledge of FINRA/SEC regulations preferred.

  • 3+ years' experience in Risk Management, Audit, or applicable testing programs (e.g., compliance, testing and monitoring), financial services and/or banking industry required.

  • Established testing experience with multiple techniques preferred (e.g., control, transaction, process review).
  • Knowledge of common risk management framework and methodologies.
  • Proficient at Issue identification, problem-solving/troubleshooting, and Issue escalation; risk mindset.
  • Requires limited direct supervision and takes ownership for one’s own quarterly testing deliverables.
  • Conflict leadership skills and/or proven the ability to handle difficult situations.
  • High-level of written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate optimally across business levels (both vertically and horizontally).
  • Ability to learn new processes, systems, and controls quickly with minimal training.
  • Ability to interpret and understand laws and regulations, research and identify requirements and related controls and assist in developing test scripts.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High level of personal integrity, with the ability to handle confidential and otherwise sensitive matters expertly and with the appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Meticulous, organized, energetic, motivated, and committed.

Base Pay Range:

Emerging: 70000

Experienced: 95000

Expert: 120000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan
