AECOM Operations Support Lead - Strategy & Growth in Sydney, Australia

Company Description

Are you ready to be the backbone of our strategy rocket ship?

We're looking for a co-pilot, someone eager to help us steer our growth and execute our strategy. If you're looking for a diverse role in an awesome, close-knit team (and don't mind dorky job ads), step right this way…

At AECOM, we're not just planning the infrastructure of tomorrow, but we're also charting the course for our future.

We're on the hunt for an Operations guru to co-pilot with our Managing Director, Strategy & Growth. Our Strategy & Growth team is, quite frankly, the beating heart that fuels the growth engine across Australia and New Zealand (don't tell the rest of the company). You'll be the glue holding our strategic efforts together, collaborating across functions to spearhead our success.

You can be based in either our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane offices (which are all very fancy and full of good people) and your role will be hugely varied. We value the right fit over the perfect resume, so you could come from a variety of backgrounds to enrich our team.

Job Description

It's a really busy job and we work hard, but we tend to eat a lot of chocolate and send memes to balance that out. You'll work with colleagues around the globe, across our complex network of business lines, functions and regions, helping to drive the operations of the S&G team. This is a busy role where no two days are the same. If you're eager for a new challenge, like working hard and enjoy working within a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What will a day in this role may look like:

  • (Get a coffee) Attend the global knowledge management meeting and work out what we need to progress for the Australia New Zealand region, and how you'll communicate that later.

  • Onboard a new Client Account Manager, making sure they have all the tools they need to get started on day 1.

  • (Drink a cup of tea) Check the strategy inputs for the Quarterly Business Review and make sure the numbers match the monthly report.

  • Hold a briefing session for a business line leader who is new to the client listening process and then schedule five client feedback sessions.

  • (Eat chocolate) Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to outline the key talking points for the annual strategy review roadshow.

Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

What are we looking for from you?

  • 5+ years experience in a business-to-business or professional services environment is essential.

  • Experience working in strategy, business development, marketing, or similar team

  • Degree qualified in business, marketing or a related discipline will be looked on favourably.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with many levels of seniority in environments with pressing delivery schedules.

  • Demonstrated project management and problem solving skills

  • Totally committed and able to work consistently to deadlines under pressure and tight timeframes.
