Nordic Fraud & Recovery Manager - AIG

AIG Nordic is currently looking for a Nordic Fraud & Recovery Manager to be responsible for all aspects of the Fraud related investigation processes and Recovery opportunities across our Nordic cluster (consisting of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland). You will be part of our long year’s operation EMEA Fraud & Recovery organization and have a dual reporting line into to both our Nordic Head of Claims and the EMEA Head of Fraud & Recovery.

Preferred location for this position is Stockholm.

AIG Fraud & Recovery team

AIG global Fraud & Recovery team is on an exciting journey as we are developing the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Fraud & Recovery organization to the next level and where we are investing in new investigation technology and tools used by many law agencies and Intelligence bureaus across our globe. On the Recovery business the plan is to grow responsibilities and results to maximise Recovery value and minimise recovery related costs.

The Nordic Fraud & Recovery team will be working closely with our global as well as EMEA Fraud & Recovery team and external service partners. The global team consist of people with various backgrounds and expertise areas, primarily from the insurance industry, from different law agencies and from Intelligence service bureaus. Fraud & Recovery function is working closely with our Nordic claims department located in all four countries ensuring that existing and new investigation procedures are followed and monitor the result of the work.

Selection of Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Nordic department and work close with relevant stakeholders in the region as well as in the broader geography with focus on investigation and recovery services.

  • Support planning, managing and evaluation work of staff; decision making regarding pay, performance management, development, employment, and staffing requirements by providing valid management information to regional leadership.

  • Function as the AIG liaison and point of contact for the cluster with industry associations, regulators, law enforcement etc. as appropriate.

  • Work with claims and underwriting teams to understand where fraud exposure exists and where recovery opportunity is available. Create and implement strategies to maximize recovery value and mitigate fraud risk.

  • Support the execution of the GI Claims Fraud & recovery strategy, including deployment of technology initiatives, detection analytics, TPA governance, vendor appointment, shared services engagement, and expense management.

  • Manage expenses within established and approved budget guidelines. Manage the fraud and recovery vendor panel, ensuring vendor performance is of the highest quality and delivering value.

  • Work with claims managers in the cluster to improve the early identification, referral, and triage of claims with suspicious features and claims with recovery potential.

  • Manage the collection and verification of all fraud & recovery related metrics for timely reporting to cluster, regional and global managers.

  • Ensure team compliance with all country laws and regulations regarding recovery best practices, guidelines, reporting & submissions, and data privacy requirements.

  • Proactively engage and align priorities with other claims centres of excellence.

    Position requirements

The successful candidate will have proven experience in stakeholder management as well as a solid understanding of the criminal and civil justice systems. You probably have a background from doing similar type of work.

Key Requirements

  • Few years proven leadership experience

  • Solid understanding of insurance, preferably from both the consumer and commercial side

  • Excellent cultural understanding

  • Excellent communicator in both English and one or more Nordic languages

    Preferred skills

  • Fraud experience (from a bank or insurance company, intelligence background or a Law Agency)

  • University degree in relevant area

  • Demonstrated insurance recovery experience of general Recovery related experience.

  • Ideally both Fraud & recovery skill sets, but if not, then either / or

  • Claims experience

  • Able to manage more than one Nordic language
