Amazon Europe North Public Sector Leader in Stockholm, Sweden

As AWS rapidly grows the business and team across International markets, we are seeking for a Leader to focus on Public Sector looking across Europe North Area. This will cover the verticals of government, education, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, and state-owned enterprises. This provides an opportunity to impact, engage, shape, bring innovation and grow the adoption of cloud computing within the public sector in 11 countries, from Benelux (Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands) to Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) and Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania).

As a Manager of Managers, reporting to the Europe North Managing Director, you will have the responsibility for leading a team who looks after customers and partners with various complexity and revenue sizes.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a senior customer leadership background that enables them to lead a diverse team of global sales leaders, customer account managers, partner and technical resources, engaging the broad public sector team.

You will have the responsibility of mentoring and supporting the team so that pipeline and revenue quota’s are achieved as well as defining territories and go to market strategy. Our growth will also mean that you will play an integral part with the growth and recruitment into the team.

  • Collaborate with Senior Management, Finance, HR, Sales Operations, Sales Specialists, Marketing to align the team’s initiatives.

  • Conduct regular reviews of business and performance including call activity, pipeline reviews, prospecting and closing deals

  • Analyse wins and losses and provide reports and plans for future prospects

  • Present regular, accurate reports to senior management for review

  • Provide feedback and suggestions for program improvement on a regular basis

  • Develop strategic plans, set goals and quotas

  • Accelerate customer adoption and customer satisfaction

  • Work strategically with partners to extend AWS reach

We are also open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  • Amsterdam, Netherlands

  • Stockholm, Sweden

  • Copenhagen, Denmark

  • Helsinki, Finland

  • Oslo, Norway

The successful candidate needs to be able to travel across the Europe North countries.

About the team

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Successful experience leading in a matrix environment across multiple countries

  • People/sales management direct experience in a multi-tiered organization and experience managing technology-related sales teams with direct quota responsibility

  • Direct and indirect sales experience in working with European public sector organizations (Government, Education, Healthcare)

  • Experience successfully building and executing go-to market plans for medium and large enterprise accounts, leading, motivating and developing talent

  • BA/University Degree or equivalent experience

  • Full Professional English level and any Europe-North languages is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and analytical skills, accurate and concise reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of AWS products and services

  • A technical or educational background in engineering, computer science, or MIS

  • MBA/MS degree in relevant field

  • 50%+ Travel Time
