The Senior Software Engineer Front-End UI Developer will play a key role for Patterson’s dental software portfolio. In this role we are seeking a skilled Front-end Developer with strong capabilities to join our UX team as a Component Library Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our component library, creating new components, ensuring that all components align with our design language, and providing support to front-end efforts across multiple feature teams.

Success in the role requires a strong appreciation for how the UX design impacts the user experience and overall success of our software. A deep knowledge of accessibility standards and how they should be implemented to follow AA accessibility standards found within WCAG guidelines. A great communicator and thought leader in sharing knowledge and best practices with other stakeholders and development teams. Alongside exceptional front-end knowledge in use of Angular, and Blazer application frameworks.

Key Skills and Qualities

Proficient in Angular development:

Ability to demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing user interfaces using primarily the Angular framework.

  • Strong understanding of Angular components, services, directives, and data binding.

  • Experienced in Angular routing, forms, and state management.

Experience with Kendo UI for Angular:

  • Strong understanding of Kendo UI for Angular library and its components like grids, charts, and dropdowns.

  • Knowledge of TypeScript:

  • Proficient in TypeScript programming language to leverage its features in conjunction with Kendo Angular components.

Skilled in Blazor development:

  • Solid knowledge in developing interactive web applications with Blazor framework.

  • Knowledge of Blazor components, layouts, and routing. o

  • Familiarity with Blazor server-side and client-side hosting models.

  • This is primarily for or Orthodontic software known as Blue

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript:

  • Strong foundation in frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Experience in responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.

Knowledge of UI/UX best practices:

  • Solid understanding of UI design principles and UX best practices to implement intuitive and visually appealing interfaces.

  • The ability to provide suggestions with knowledge of leading front-end UI patterns/technology to UX and UI designers.

  • Ability to leverage design systems and UI libraries effectively.

Problem-solving and debugging skills:

  • Proficient in troubleshooting UI-related issues and optimizing application performance.

  • Ability to identify and implement solutions for complex UI challenges.

Version control and collaboration:

  • Experience working with version control systems like Git for code management.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality UI solutions.

Continuous learning and adaptability:

  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in UI development.

  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer ScienceSoftware Engineering, or equivalent years of proven experience and knowledge. Master's degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in UI development, with a focus on frontend technologies.

  • Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as, Angular, Blazer etc.

  • Kendo Angular Experience is a must.

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience in building responsive web applications.

  • Experience in designing and implementing complex user interfaces, including building reusable components and optimizing performance.

  • Proficient knowledge in UI/UX best practices, usability principles, and design patterns.

  • Familiarity with backend technologies and the ability to collaborate with backend developers to integrate frontend components.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug issues efficiently.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality UI solutions that meet user requirements and business goals.

Working Environment

  • Office environment – either in Patterson facility or at home/remote location

  • Travel to corporate sites is periodically required (Quarterly or so)

  • Periodic on call rotations and available outside of normal business hours on evenings and weekends during critical production release or issue escalation periods

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.

$120,000 - $140,000
