General Description

Prepares and processes all data necessary for the accurate and timely completion of the semi-monthly corporate payroll. This includes the collection and authentication of all supporting documentation, the timely completion of all required reports, the preparation of all necessary accounting entries, and the safeguarding of all confidential information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generates reports used to review and audit all online timecards ensuring accuracy and completeness. Ensures that all employees are paid in accordance with all current minimum wage and overtime regulations. This duty is performed about 40% of the time.

  • Collects, reviews, and audits all other payroll data including incentives, commissions, bonuses, and salary adjustments ensuring proper authorization and timeliness of payment. Accurately calculates all “back pay” items ensuring fair reimbursement to the employee. Accurately calculates all “dock time”, “straight pay”, and ensures the appropriate payroll adjustments are made. This duty is performed about 20% of the time.

  • Accurately records all time worked data, payroll changes, salary adjustments, census data, tax withholding data, and authorized deduction information into the HRIS/Payroll system. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.

  • Prepares, posts, and maintains an accurate record of all vacation, sick, medical leave and other absences as recorded on the current period timecards. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.

  • Accurately prepares all payroll-related reports and accounting entries for timely distribution to all internal and external recipients following current applicable procedures. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.

  • Assist other members of the Human Resource Department with answering telephones, filing, recording keeping, and other miscellaneous departmental duties. This duty is performed about 5% of the time.

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Reads, writes, and communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).

  • Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 6 months prior payroll experience is preferred

  • Regular use of desktop/laptop computer, basic operating systems, and specialized software systems.

  • Basic experience with alphanumeric data entry, Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
