The Foreign Exchange Analyst role is responsible for providing support to treasury, finance and global business units for all of PayPal’s daily FX pricing and trading strategies. This role is part of the FX Treasury Team that has primary responsibility of daily FX pricing and trading to support PayPal cross border transactions, cash flow hedging, balance sheet hedging, and liquidity management. The position will require detailed analysis of data for aiding trade execution decisions and the measurement of financial performance for all FX activities. The role will also support risk management and compliance functions. This position is located in Singapore.

Specifically this role will:

  • Support all aspects of day-to-day FX activities with focus on data analysis

  • Extract relevant internal and external data, analyze, organize and present them into formats or models that can be easily used for relevant FX trading, reporting or performance measurement purposes

  • Assist FX team in design and implementation of evolving foreign exchange pricing and trading systems including reporting and analytical framework to support FX operations, projects and program changes

  • “Go in between” Treasury team and system development team to relate requirements and problem solving

  • Support FX activities and execution of trades, related to restricted / on-shore Asian currencies – India, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam

  • Provide foreign exchange expertise to internal, cross functional teams who consume FX rates for various applications

  • Provide foreign exchange expertise and intelligence to evaluate and implement best pricing and execution strategies

  • Partner with treasury team on all operational aspects of FX to support corporate and customer needs

  • Analyze cross border flows from other PayPal businesses as they expand globally – Xoom, Braintree and future acquisitions.

  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis on various FX related inquiries

  • Partner with product and pricing teams on cross border analysis.

  • Provide strategic support for business units where possible by leveraging FX and treasury experience

Position Requirements:

  • 7+ years Finance/Treasury experience , MBA/CFA preferred

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA Preferred

  • Experience in FX operations at a global financial institution will be an advantage

  • Broad Treasury background preferred

  • Business or system analyst experience in order to demonstrate the ability to perform data analysis and research within data files and other data source

  • Experience and familiarity with handling large data sets; prior experience in Tableau, VBA, MS Access and SQL queries is preferred

  • Strong system, data flow knowledge and ability to translate them to product flow

  • Addressing business problems by translating them into structured analyses, synthesizing data from multiple sources, and delivering solutions

  • Team oriented, highly analytical individual and self-starter who excels at learning new processes and business functions

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment Technology Proficiencies

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel (VBA)

  • Tableau MS Access and SQL Queries will be an advantage
