• Managing and optimizing existing Payments Product & Engineering products for the South East Asia • Identifying potential new market payment opportunities • Managing and developing PayPal’s relationships with external payments partners (banks, processors, networks) • Working with the segment and sales & marketing teams, to support growth, and consulting on strategic elements that impact payments • Report directly to, and support, the Senior Director and Head of Payments - International Markets
Develop and execute payment strategy for the Asia and interact with a focus on developing new funding sources through developing alternative payment methods (APMs) and maximizing alternative payment functionalities for the PayPal wallet across the Asia region. This includes the high-level product design, the evaluation of competitive and regulatory issues as well as the assessment and integration of external partners.
Identify new payment related initiatives / opportunities that improve customer experiences in SEA markets
Support implementation of PayPal’s Visa/MasterCard branded in store card and token solutions in the SEA region
Develop business cases to support new payment initiatives / opportunities by analyzing existing data and researching new data
Manage local regulatory environment working closely with legal and government relations to ensure ongoing compliance for PayPal with ever evolving local market regulations and requirements.
Identify and engage with SEA banks to drive PayPal’s Retail Bank Partnership strategy through negotiation of closer integration with Chinese banks.
Optimize / expand existing product solutions, by analyzing product data, customer support feedback and competition information
Support cross functional teams like Product, Finance and Legal with payments platform expertise
Mange relationship with existing and new partners/vendors
Support sales & marketing teams, key segments (consumer, small business, mid-market and large enterprise), customer support teams on core payments related matters.
Act as core payments consultant to relevant South East Asia internet and payments organizations engaging on behalf of, and representing, PayPal
Represent PayPal on relevant local SEA payments bodies and forums
Optimize product usage, product build and pricing of existing products / partners
Develop strategy for leveraging evolving local market open banking (access to bank accounts) to improve the PayPal wallet customer experience
