Trinity Health Pharmacy Clinical Specialist in Silver Spring, Maryland

Description:

The clinical specialist pharmacist is responsible for coordinating the drug therapy process on a specified medical service or patient care area on a daily basis. The clinical specialist is responsible for drug selection, drug information, dosing, monitoring, outcomes management and patient interviews, education and counseling.

The clinical specialist supports the operations of the pharmacy department and may assist in the distribution of medications and the supervision of pharmacy technicians in distributive functions and departmental operations under the direction of the pharmacy operations manager and director of pharmacy.

Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):

Active Maryland Pharmacist Licensure

Active BLS/ACLS Certification

American Society of Health-system Pharmacy accredited residency program certificate

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.

Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy. Able to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff in order to meet departmental objectives. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.

Preferred: Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Certification in a pharmacy specialty (pharmacotherapy, oncology, nutrition support), full membership in American College of Clinical Pharmacy, membership in American Society of Health-System Pharmacists ASHP and Washington Society of Health-System Pharmacists WMSHP. Knowledge of software: Word, Excel, Power Point;
