Summary

The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for managing the Trade Compliance activities and requirements involving UK Importation, Exportation and International Cargo Security Programs, and Trade Automation processes on a global basis. The position provides both strategic and tactical leadership. The Trade Compliance Manager will ensure all applicable company policies and Customs regulations are met, while managing the expeditious and compliant flow of international trade. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external activities.

Responsibilities

· Develop and communicate strategic plans and compliance gaps to senior management.

· Supervise directly or indirectly, divisional import / export role-based specialists.

· Manage customs brokerage and customs facing forwarder processes. Drive continuous process improvement and lead-time reduction. Establish, monitor and support service provider performance against clearly defined KPIs/SOPs.

· Liaise with internal and external managers in support of international trade activities.

· Manage country specific AEO program.

· Provide economic sanctions management guidance.

· Support, monitor and assure compliance relating to military and dual-use export control licensing activities.

· Ensure data integrity related to tariff, country of origin, and value information declared to Customs authorities.

· Manage compliance with preferential trade and VAT recovery programs.

· Create and manage record keeping program and digital image solutions.

· Evaluate, design, implement, and manage internal and external Trade Compliance specific IT solutions.

· Respond to all government requests in a factual and timely manner.

· Conduct and report findings of audits and internal risk assessments. Follow-up with Compliance Improvement Plans.

Qualifications

· Advanced degree in international trade, business administration or law desired; Minimum: Undergraduate degree in business or relevant trade related professional certification

· In-Depth knowledge of EU, UK and US Export licensing and controls, Tariff Classification, Valuation and Country of Origin Determination laws, Customs & International transport processes, Supply Chain Security programs.

· ITAR and BIS Regulation experience.

· International Cargo Security Certification experience.

· Capability to positively interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional and confident manner.

· 10+ years of trade compliance experience.

· Proven track record of exceeds on performance evaluation.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, SharePint , PowerBI).

· SAP/GTS and JDE exprience.

· Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.

· Bias for action, assertive, strong initiative, customer focused.

· Collaborative in a matrix oriented environment.

· Ability to conduct training and present to large groups.

· International travel up to 10%.
