Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead a stable, efficient and professional Medical Affairs and Medical Science Liaison team to continue to meet the business requirements in China

  • Co-create with TAH on medical affairs strategy and evidence generation planning and accountable for execution and delivery of the medical affairs strategy and plan

  • Provide medical leadership with market participation and connectivity while also impacting the new product launch and life cycle management planning and execution of the products.

  • Evaluate market feedback with commercial partners on challenges and gaps between business objectives and external experts (EEs) expectations, needs and priorities, and competitors’ activities; assess risk and develop appropriate recovery/ contingency plans

  • As an active member of the Global Medical Team, ensure that country strategy is effectively communicated and needs are appropriately considered and accommodated as part of global deliverables

  • Supervise and track timely implementation of Medical Affairs operating plans towards external experts, involving medical engagement activities, scientific collaboration, medical information communication, medical education and publication and training programs

  • Build effective networks through close and sustained interaction with external stakeholders such as national, regional and global EEs, medical associations, academic centers of excellence, Center of Drug Evaluation (CDE), and other government regulators and compliance officers

  • Guide the development of the MA and MSL yearly plan and activities including advisory boards (ABs), scientific engagement meetings (SEMs) in collaboration with other cross functional team members, ensuring consistency with IAP and business priorities

  • Develop strategic and operational direction of the product evidence generation and development plan aligned with the short-, medium- and long-term TA and business strategy

  • Supervise and guide the implementation of local post-marketing phase IV trials and investigator-initiated studies (IISs) to meet qualitative and quantitative objectives in a timely fashion

  • Strategically and tactically lead the integrated the medical engagement plan with EEs.

  • Lead MA & MSL team to work closely and coordinate launch and commercialization process by increasing product awareness and interest of relevant HCPs and others in the medical/scientific community

  • Lead and direct the strategic planning for pre-launch training on the disease, the patient journey and related need(s).

  • Ensure medical and scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance of all customer-facing medical, promotional and educational material and activities

  • Review and approve manuscripts for publication, abstracts and posters for presentation at scientific meetings

  • Lead the MA and MSL team to develop expertise and provide hands-on training, guidance, in-field coaching and other support across various functional domains

  • Establish and expand the MA & MSL team with high capable talents, by attracting, retaining, and developing key talents

  • Anticipate and manage resource needs agilely to ensure the organization is appropriated sourced.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or above, preferable MD or PhD in medicine related field

  • At least 8 years’ experience in medical department of multinational companies, 3-5 years in position equivalent to medical advisor in pharmaceutical industry

  • People management experience is preferred for position.

  • Solid Therapeutic area knowledge in target assets/products

  • Excellent communication skill and strong leadership

  • Strong ability to create network with external experts and other key stakeholders.

  • Fluent to speak, read and write in English. Strong written and verbal skills an

  • Track record of accountability, agility, and intrapreneurship and willingness of taking smart risks.

  • Able to work independently as well as in cross-functional groups (internal and external)
