Amazon Senior Product Manager Tech, Kindle Direct Publishing in Seattle, Washington

The Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) team is looking for a Senior Product Manager to define direction, roadmap and requirements for a new product initiative. In this role, you will own both strategy and delivery, working across a wide range of cross-functional and partner teams including engineering, user experience, finance, business intelligence and more. The solutions you create will influence not just experiences within Kindle Direct Publishing, but also across Book’s teams more broadly and have a tangible impact on both content creators and customers. As part of KDP you will join and contribute to a thriving business that has revolutionized reading and the way authors of any level engage the millions of readers that shop on Amazon.

The successful candidate is able to define and deliver on a vision working backwards from customer needs, ruthlessly prioritize, identify opportunities to simplify and scale solutions and operate at a strategic level while staying connected to the details. She or he must have proven experience defining direction and driving decisions across a variety of stakeholders and Sr. Leadership.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the vision for your product space, including managing communication and driving decisions across stakeholders and Sr. leadership.

• Work backwards from anecdotes, data and research to define direction, and set priority.

• Deliver high-impact products while identifying the key risks, tradeoffs and prioritization calls that balance delivery against costs.

• Navigate ambiguity and identifying simple solutions for hard problems.

• Prioritize features working in close partnership with engineering teams, UX designers, partner teams and other stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

  • Experience performing statistical analysis of data using SQL, Excel and other tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
