DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES This position is responsible for testing, inspecting and properly repairing electrical components of locomotive systems, equipment and machinery. This position is in the greater Seattle area and is mobile, requiring troubleshooting skills. LOCOMOTIVE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE Test,maintain, and repairlocomotive alternators, generators and motors, including AC and DC power control systems, main and auxiliary electrical cabinets, lighting, batteries, and wiring/conduit EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE Inspect, adjust, troubleshoot and repairelectricalcomponents of various shop machinery and equipment, such as drop tables, may include some welding, mechanical, and electro-magnetic equipment, perform preventative maintenance on a variety ofequipment, and machinery to ensure proper function. WORKING CONDITIONS Extreme all-weather conditions Walk and perform work onuneven surfaces Safety sensitive work environment Loud noise and fumes Workon or around heavy/moving machinery SHIFTS/HOURS Full-time (40hrs/wk) Subject to seniority and governed by union agreement Assigned shift may be one of three 8-hour shifts Mechanical shops operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week TRAVEL Minimal BASIC QUALIFICATIONS At least 18 years of age, or will be by the anticipated start date listed above Ability to report for duty at the designated work location Able to work safely in the above working conditions Able towork
