About the Role

AWS Solutions Architects are trusted advisors to our customers, helping them solve some of their largest business challenges by designing and advising on some of the most scalable, flexible and resilient solutions in the world. Being a thought leader who creates and presents content you will test traditional thinking by pushing the boundaries for your customers to dream and deliver beyond what they think is possible. You will have the opportunity to partner with customers early in their cloud journey and help them scale further bringing visible and measurable impact in their growth ambitions in non-linear ways, using AWS as building blocks.

Key job responsibilities

Customers are looking for strategic partners to help them thrive in rapidly changing business context. As a solutions architect, you will have opportunities to influence customers' cloud journey right from the start. You will have a chance to influence architectural decisions to help customers adopt AWS cloud in a more reliable and secure way while at the same time helping the customers realize tangible business value from cloud adoption. Most importantly, as a Trusted Advisor, you will provide customers with technical insight, technology roadmap, and right technical choices to transform IT in rapidly changing environment.

• Work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend best-practice cloud architectures in line with their long-term business needs, going beyond what they say and into what they really need, and develop new solutions that best match those needs.

• Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical challenges and craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures

• Act as a thought leader in wider community, playing a key role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops both in Korean and English

• Deeply understand AWS platform and architectural best practices. Also develop unique technical capability, be it specialized knowledge in a particular technical or industry domain where you will become a go-to person for both customer and your team

• Serve as a subject matter expert to guide technology strategy by convincing decision makers across multiple domains from technical teams to executives and help ensure their short-term technology choices are aligned with their long-term goals

• As a Builder, you’ll shape the direction of our products and services through gathering

feedback from customers whilst collaborating with our engineering and service teams.

A day in the life

In this role, your technical depth, business aptitude, and ability to steer technology discussions at all levels will enable you to shape the customer journey. Your thought leadership, ability to look beyond the technology, and more holistically at the value technology creates for our customers, is crucial to your success.

After joining our team, you will be provided with a ramp-up plan and a mentor to ensure you get off to a good start. After that we will ask you to dive deeply into your customer's business and technology situations and help them identify which of their issues and goals can be best served by adopting AWS cloud. We will also ask you to enable the customers to be successful in their cloud adoption by answering their technical questions, removing technical blockers they encounter, delivering hands-on workshops, and providing architectural guidance. At AWS, Customer Obsession is in our DNA so you will need to become a Trusted Advisor to our customers and to ensure that they are able to achieve their business objectives with the help of AWS cloud technology. Within first 12 months, you will have an opportunity to work with a variety of customers, present at the AWS Summits in Seoul and elsewhere in APAC, conduct internal training, and publish blogs and whitepapers. You will also have an opportunity to influence the direction of our products by providing actionable customer feedback to the service teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Presentation for internal/external events, White boarding)

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

  • Passion and experience for evangelizing and presenting technical concepts across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience architecting, migrating or transforming customer requirements to the cloud

  • Experience in leading or contributing large scale service project (Open-source projects or commercial service targeting global customers)

  • Experience in Agile Project Management, DevOps, ITIL methodology

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
