The Card Platform Manager for Latin America is responsible for day-to-day operational aspects of PayPal's card acceptance capabilities in the region, as well as building new card acceptance functionality in the region.
Moving money is one of PayPal's core capabilities. Third party card transactions account for the majority of the transactions. PayPal provides a diverse set of payment-related services to merchants, enabling them to accept payments from PayPal users as well as non-PayPal users who have cards (credit cards, debit cards and pre-paid cards). A robust card acquiring platform is necessary to sustain PayPal's incredible YOY growth. Growing the card platform by enabling new card types around the world is critical for PayPal's global expansion efforts.
The Card Acquiring Product Manager is responsible for enabling the build, deployment, maintenance and ultimately management of the third-party card integrations in the Latin America region. The PM works in close partnership with the other Product Management teams to ensure that the Card platform can support all the requirements of the various PayPal products being launched in the market. The job requires the PM to build and maintain close working relations with the various processing and acquiring bank partners in the region. The PM is also responsible for working with the Payments Compliance and Legal teams to ensure that PayPal is compliant with card network operating rules and the laws of the countries where PayPal is present. The PM also works with the Business Operations, Chargeback management and Accounting teams to ensure that all card acquiring-related processes are functioning smoothly.
60% of this role will be making sure we are tracking towards or exceeding KPI’s (Availability, Authorization Decline Rate, Exception management – chargebacks and accounting), identifying issues when we are not meeting KPI’s and driving solutions to fix those issues.
Drive ideation and brainstorming discussion with partners – internal and external, to define innovative products that delight users.
Be the voice of our customers and solve their core payment friction and provide a delightful experience.
Be laser-focused on building seamless, simple, and intuitive user experiences for our users.
Work with Design teams to create prototypes and drive usability, user research.
Defining and document product requirements, user stories and epics.
Review product performance and provide a continuous improvement path.
Walkthrough product vision and specification with engineering and architecture – review the technical solution.
Work closely with engineering, architecture and design teams throughout the software development lifecycle – be able to resolve open issues, answer product questions and guide the engineering and development teams to building the right products.
Work with quality engineering team to develop test plans and strategies to ensure product quality
Collaborate with global cross-functional team to develop, market, and launch product globally
Use A/B Testing, analytics, market research, usability studies, and competitive analysis to drive decision making.
Partner with Customer Support teams in solving pain points for our users.
Partner with legal and compliance teams to ensure the solutions we put out are within the regulatory boundaries.
6+ years product management experience
Strong understanding of payments domain and payments industry, with focus on credit card processing
Good understanding of platform service models, including Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Consumer focus and experience designing simple and intuitive user experiences
