Core Platform and Infrastructure (CPI) team is the technology engine that powers PayPal’s business. We deliver a scalable, efficient and highly reliable infrastructure and services platform in a hybrid cloud environment.
Core Data Platform (CDP) forms an integral part of CPI that manages Data Platforms powering over 150PB of data. Our mission is to enable our community of Data scientists, analysts and developers to derive faster insights and reduce TTM fueling PP growth. As a team, we are active in the open source community, are proud of our systems knowledge, technology breadth, and intellectual curiosity. We are driven to empower PayPal business in the best way possible. We are responsible for setting the database strategy and delivering distributed structured storage services to for the relational and the non-relational database segments.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Lead product manager, who is passionate about delivering quality solutions, excited about constantly interacting with his/her customer base, and inspired by the opportunity to build a platform. The PM constantly seeks opportunities to improve our offering: placing emphasis on quality, delivering delightful customer experiences, with right set of capabilities to meet PayPal needs.
We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in database and distributed system to join our Product Management team.
A successful candidate will bring deep technical and software expertise, strong business acumen and judgment, ability to define visionary, ground breaking products, ability to hire and lead a team, desire to have an industry wide impact and ability to work within a fast moving, startup environment in a large company to rapidly deliver services that have a broad business impact.
The Lead Product Manager will be responsible for:
Driving product strategy and creating capabilities that application teams can leverage to have a direct impact on PayPal end user experience
Managing and mentoring a team of product managers in order to achieve individual and team goals
Working cross-functionally (with global BUs, engineering, and design) and developing strong relationships that help build trust with key partner teams.
Evangelizing product roadmap internally and externally in informal and formal settings
Running lean experiments to inform future investment areas
Experience driving strategy for infrastructure products in a top tech or payments company
Proven experience working in an agile environment in a Product Owner role.
Experience in building cloud scale services and a deep understanding of distributed systems
Passion to seek an in-depth understanding of customer needs and turn that insight into a compelling vision and strategy for the product area
Strong execution and ability to drive work to completion
Experience in working with open source technologies
BA/BS in CS required
