The Consumer Product Marketing team is looking for a star performer and a passionate advocate to support the definition and delivery of the next generation of money management and movement solutions for Consumers.
Product Marketing Management (PMM) is a multi-dimensional discipline, requiring continual customer engagement, broad and deep knowledge of technical products and platforms, communication skills to develop messages and collateral that resonate with the market, and sophisticated marketing skills to design and execute demand generation campaigns.
The Head of Consumer Product Marketing Management (PMM) Engagement strongly influences the success of our consumer products by serving as the connection point between a primary segment of our consumer customers globally and our global product and engineering team. The Head of Consumer PMM Engagement deeply understands a segment of our consumers, the drivers of their financial behavior, their money management processes, and the whole product solution that will deliver market leading customer satisfaction.
From an inbound perspective, the PMM continually defines the most important customer needs and opportunities that will best help a segment of our customers. PMMs actively interact with consumers in an individual country or region, to deeply understand their financial needs as well as any unique country, regulatory, and currency requirements. They also help answer priority customer questions and requests, providing deep expertise about our products and how they are best used, appropriately handing off issues and bugs to the global product and support teams. PMMs frequently collaborate with their Segment, Market and product management (PM) peers across the globe to distill the set of needs across all countries and regions into an overall set of globally prioritized needs and opportunities for a consumer segment.
From an outbound perspective, the PMM leads the in-market activities to ensure successful product launch and where no GTM team is in support also leads the product go-to-market (GTM) activities. Guided by the strategic direction of the Markets and Segment Leaders, the PMM works with Marketing to design and execute marketing programs that educate our customers and drive demand.
Be the expert on consumers and their buying, payment, credit, money movement and wider financial needs and deliver the voice of the customer across the segment and the markets
Collect, distill, and communicate the top consumer problems, needs and opportunities
Execute discovery plans with Product and UER teams
Deeply understand our consumer products, their value propositions, and their roadmaps and provide Markets with communications on delivery of global programs and priorities
Work as one team with our Global Product colleagues to ensure effective requirements, prioritisation, solutions, quality and business delivery
Translate product release into compelling value propositions that meet consumer segment needs
Serve as an essential conduit between product and the global PMM team with the benefit of co-location with the delivery teams, keeping key stakeholders appraised of latest product updates and roadmap deliverables
Lead cross functional engagements with key partners and stakeholders such as UER to align on plans and joint work objectives
Skills & Experience:
At least 9+ years of experience in product/marketing/consulting roles at brands well known for understanding customer needs and delivering market-leading solutions
Used to working in an international environment with matrix organization with demanding stakeholders on VP+ level
Highly effective communicator and great networker, who interacts with clarity and purpose across all levels of organization
Team player who can build strong working relationships and executes as ONE team in a dynamic environment
Successful track record in defining and delivering products to market predicated on customer voice
Deep experience leading qualitative and quantitative research, to understand consumer needs and translating them into product and marketing strategies that have succeeded in the marketplace
Process driven individual who has effectively managed and executed complex, multi-layer work streams in a fast-paced matrix organization collaborating across our product, sales, marketing and research teams, as well as external agencies
Strong understanding of Consumer Financial Services business space preferred
Intellectual curiosity and possessing strong analytical and innovative thinking skills – able to easily simplify the complex and headline key information to aid in quick responses and action
Passion for PayPal and its core values
Bachelor’s degree; MBA or MSc a plus
