The Director of Regulatory Change, Legal Inventory and Risk Assessment will lead PYPLs Risk Management Processes specific to risk identification and assessment across PayPal. The leader will be responsible for enhancing the overall regulatory change and risk assessment methodology, framework and processes. This leader will manage three distinct related to regulatory change management, the global risk taxonomy and obligations and the global risk assessment process aligned for all risk disciplines. This position will require expertise in risk management principles across all risk disciplines as well as international regulatory experience.

The Director of Regulatory Change, Legal Inventory and Risk Assessment will lead PYPLs Risk Management Processes specific to risk identification and assessment across PayPal. This leader will need to build strong relationships with PayPal business partners and within the Global Governance Risk and Compliance (GGRC) organization to be effectively positioned to understand, communicate and influence plans, results, issues and outcomes. This leader will work in an extremely complex, fast-paced matrixed environment, replete with tight deliverable timeframes and multiple stakeholders, both internal and external. This position is expected to act independently and demonstrate strong initiative. This leader needs to influence outcomes, minimize and address conflict and demonstrate in-depth understanding of risk management activities and business risk and control environments. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.

The individual must possess expertise in process and technology and business acumen along with strategic and innovative thinking and an unwavering focus on the customer. Their strong leadership and relationship skills, resilience and ability to effectively communicate will be key in driving results the right way.

  • Ability to interface with business, risk, and compliance stakeholders to execute large-scale programs

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-starter and highly motivated to work in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Ability to credibly challenge solutions and reporting, ensuring that timely escalation of issues and concerns occurs as and when appropriate

  • Ability to lead large teams to meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous environments and lead the team from current state to proposed solutions

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management, and program management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both

  • Bachelor’s degree and knowledge of the financial services enterprise risk management programs with a specific focus on regulatory compliance
