We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help architect, develop, and test solutions that will support Quality Engineering. These solutions will assist in delivering the PayPal iOS and Android Consumer Apps with high confidence.
At PayPal, we work together on small, collaborative teams. We’re passionate about code quality and we’re constantly – some might say, obsessively ¬– finding new ways to perfect our processes and product.
We work closely with our app engineering, design, content, and product teams to test and iterate on new solutions to customers’ problems. We also collaborate with a tools and infrastructure team who are dedicated to support our Continuous Integration, Quality and Release processes. Your contributions will enhance our ability to assess the quality of our app more efficiently, allowing our app to be updated in the App Store or Play Store every 3 weeks.
Lead automation framework development by collaborating ideas, designs, and requirements into concrete, organized, stable libraries
Design and oversee solutions for specific use cases that generate frameworks, interfaces, and services which are maintainable and reusable
Influence and mentor peers - not just in the immediate team, but across PayPal
Work with product, project, and engineering teams to deliver products on schedule that solve our customers’ problems
Collaborate with Engineering, Tools & Infrastructure, and Release teams to resolve bugs and meet SLAs
Develop and communicate technical processes, standards, and best practices
Required Technical Skills
5+ years of software development experience
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming in Java, Groovy, and Ruby
Solid understanding of Appium Framework
Good experience with XCode or Android Studio IDE
Experience with continuous integration pipelines (Jenkins 2.0)
Good background writing functional automation tests
Knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub
Proficiency administering Unix-based platforms
B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science
