Sierra Nevada Corporation Principal Technical Program Manager (Contingent Upon Award) in Hill AFB, United States

SNC is seeking candidates for positions at Hill AFB, Utah supporting effective and responsive integration throughout the lifecycles of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) Weapon Systems. Expected work duration is eighteen years!

As Principal Technical Program Manager, you will be using your skills and expertise to support the execution of business unit strategy, provide technical leadership, guidance, and oversight program and technical reviews and provide guidance to staff on technical solution synthesis.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. SNC will support the integrated lifecycle acquisition and sustainment for both the Minute Man III and the next-generation Ground Based Strategic Deterrent ICBMs.

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business, Engineering or related field and 15 years of experience

  • OR Master’s degree in Management, Business, Engineering or related field and 12 years of experience

  • OR PhD degree in Management, Business, Engineering or related field and 9 years of experience

  • Thorough understanding of all phases of design lifecycle management to include requirements, design, integration, test, and sustainment

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of industry best practices and techniques for program management, science, and engineering programs

  • Possess advanced technical knowledge and experience; working knowledge of industry trends and historical context

  • Proven ability to work with department-level business leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms; ability to tailor conversations to adapt to technical vs. non-technical audiences

  • Prior experience developing and maintaining product line technical baselines that support multiple programs, ensuring consistency, continuity, and configuration control

  • Ability to support program and technical reviews, and provide guidance to staff on technical solution synthesis

  • Proven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviews

  • Mastery of the ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to dynamic situations

  • Proven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in the program management disciplines

  • Strong analytical background with the evaluation of requests for proposals and/or quotes. Experience with preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes

  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Typically 8-10 years of relevant leadership and/or project management experience

  • Master's degree or higher in an Engineering or similar field of study

  • PMP or PgMP certified

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong management skills

  • Ability to deliver per an agreed-to schedule

  • Ability to adjust and problem solve when schedules/situations change

  • Knowledge/experience in requirements capture, design, and decomposition

  • Capability to elicit and specify stakeholder needs

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with high degree of emotional intelligence

  • Able to work independently or in a team setting

  • Experience in integrating multiple projects including maximizing use of resources/personnel, scheduling, and costing.

  • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and follow through

  • Knowledge of ICBMs and acquisition lifecycle helpful/preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
