Senior Full Stack Engineer This is a fully-remoterole - Must be based in USA (Working EST hours). About the Team The Landscape team is committed to making higher education accessible to every student, no matter where they live or learn. We provide a no-cost tool to Higher Education Institutions that gathers consistent, quality high school and neighborhood information for every applicant to help admissions officers fully consider all students. We are a small, self-organized team of 3 engineers with a lot of autonomy. We are never shy about experimenting and implementing solutions using the most innovative technologies. We regularly collaborate, keeping it light, while pitching and sharing our ideas to help define the future of the application. We work closely with product owners, higher education institutions, and external partners to serve our mission. About the Opportunity As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Landscape team, you are a collaborator, an idea-sharer. You have a strong interest in understanding and improving products for the end user. You relish the opportunity to bring your ideas and your love of coding to support, enhance and define the future of a fully cloud-based web application that is used by thousands of college admissions officers across the county. You are not shy about taking on new work you may not have done before while eagerly contributing to all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, coding, testing, deploying, and support. In this role, you will: Design & Implementation (75%) * Design and implement high-quality software using the latest and greatest cloud technologies * Maintain the highest engineering standards in collaboration with product owners, architects, and stakeholders, in support of our systems and services * Understand new product capabilities and decompose the implementation into specific functional changes for verification * Build solutions using the best practices of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps * Continuously develop the skills required to work as part of the Agile team in a poly-skilled development environment Team Operations & Success (25%) * Participate in Agile SCRUM ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Grooming, Daily SCRUM, Demo) and contribute to team deliverables * Participate in peer reviews of software engineering artifacts * Assist in the identification and resolution of production issues * Ensure the team is adhering to development standards and security policies and procedures About You You have: * 7+ years of professional software development experience * Experience with Full Stack development using React, Node.jsand Python * Experience developing application on AWS cloud platform * Experience with database technologies (DynamoDB, and/or SQL Server, Redshift, PostgreSQL) * Strong knowledge of building API's or other back-end servicesin Python * Excellent communication, and problem-solving skills * An enthusiasm for innovating and learning new technologies * Deep familiarity of Agile/Scrum iterative development environment * Hands-on experience to independently deliver high-quality code * A bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related work experience * You are authorized to work in the United States of America Additional nice-to-have's: * Experience with creating quick proof-of-concept (POC) trials by trying out different approaches to find the best solution * Experience with version control using Git, Dev Ops for test automation, and experience provisioning and managing Cloud infrastructure as code using AWS Cloud Formation, and/or AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) About Our Process * Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled * While the hiring process may vary, it generally includes: resume and application submission, recruiter phone screen, hiring manager interview, performance exercise such as live coding, a panel interview, a conversation with leadership and reference checks About Our Benefits and Compensation College Board offers a competitive benefits and compensation program that attracts top talent looking to make a difference in education. The hiring range for a new employee in this position is $144,000 to $157,000.College Board differentiates salaries by location so where you live will narrow the portion of this range in which you can expect a salary. Your salary will be carefully determined based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles.
