University of Rochester Research Compliance Analyst II in Rochester, New York

GENERAL PURPOSE:

To further the Medical Center Compliance Office's support of compliance and operational policies and procedures, with specific emphasis to assess clinical trial budgets and billing plans of sponsored clinical trials for compliance with applicable laws and policies, and integration of those budgets and plans into the institution's relevant computer information systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general direction and with latitude for independent judgment:

Performs Quality Assurance Reviews on proposed sponsored clinical trials budgets/billing plans to determine compliance with applicable laws and policies, identifies needed corrections, and makes recommendations for corrective actio n.

Performs monitoring of information in both the clinical trial management system and the patient revenue system to assess adherence to internal policies, processes and workflows and adherence to each study's approved billing plan.

Attains knowledge to be regarded as a subject matter expert for clinical trial software application system s/ (e.g., patient revenue system, clinical trial management system).

Assists in formulating, reviewing, and updating policies related to clinical research study budgeting and billing, and compiling metrics regarding clinical research studies activity

Acts as a resource to Medical Center personnel on a daily basis (i.e., answers questions of study teams and billing offices, and provides direction to those requiring assistance from other departments)

Maintains current knowledge of issues in the area of clinical research billing and budgeting compliance through networking, review of literature and participation in seminars and update programs

Other assignments, as requested

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). 5-7 years of prior experience is preferred, including experience with patient clinical care and/or patient account billing; proficiency with EXCEL; ability to analyze and prepare financial analyses and budgets; knowledge of clinical research billing regulations; detail-oriented thinking with ability to think abstractly; strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and ability to simultaneously manage several tasks.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $62,200 - $93,300 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
