Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Training Specialist in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).

Responsible for preparing and conducting education training and development programs. Partners with functional organizations to identify training needs, develop course material, and deliver training content. Designs, develops, coordinates, and implements effective training methods/curricula to provide employees with the technical knowledge and skills to perform their job safely and proficiently. Accountable for student skill acquisition and evaluates student performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain training materials for 222-S Lab positions using the Systematic Approach to Training and ADDIE model that meets requirements of DOE order 426.2.

  • Develop and produce training videos for use in initial and continuing education.

  • Coordinate Needs analysis and Job/Task analysis in the development of training.

  • Present classroom training and direct classroom practical exercises.

  • Monitor and promote trainee achievement of lesson and course objectives.

  • Work with on-the-job trainers and evaluators to ensure OJT/OJE requirements and expectations are met.

  • Validate and assess exam questions based upon trainee performance and feedback.

  • Function as a Training subject matter expert for 222-S staff. May function as technical authority for Training procedures.

  • Interface with Procedure Writers to ensure procedures and training material are aligned.

  • May represent the organization to internal groups and provide development-specific information to requestors.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Training Specialist III

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field and 5 years of related experience. Must have courses in education or training that focus on instructional analysis, design, development, delivery, and testing, as well as evaluation of training programs, if baccalaureate is not in Training or Education.

  • This position falls under DOE Order 426.2, and as such, must meet the conditions of the order. This may require additional specific training and/or knowledge dependent on position’s duties and responsibilities.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

  • Training Specialist, SR

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in related field and 8 years of related experience. Must have courses in education or training that focus on instructional analysis, design, development, delivery, and testing, as well as evaluation of training programs, if baccalaureate is not in Training or Education.

  • This position falls under DOE Order 426.2, and as such, must meet the conditions of the order. This may require additional specific training and/or knowledge dependent on position’s duties and responsibilities.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in development of training videos/clips for online viewing strongly desired.

  • Previous DOE, military, commercial or similar hazardous facility experience.

  • Familiarity with application and implementation of DOE Order 426.2.

  • In-depth knowledge of technical training techniques and concepts in an industrial environment.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)

Grade 16: $86,138 - $108,513

Grade 18: $101,525 - $128,075

The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.

In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. A candidate's salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
