We are looking to hire a Site Reliability Engineer II for the Microsoft Digital Security & Resilience (DSR) team. The mission of the Microsoft DSR team is to enable Microsoft to build the most trusted devices and services, while keeping our company safe and our data protected. As part of the Microsoft Security organization, and a steward of Microsoft and our customer's data, a core function of Microsoft DSR is ensuring the security of every aspect of the business. Responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer II on this team, you will:

• Work with all aspects of a high throughput and multi-tenant service.

• Collaborate effectively within the team and with partner teams across Microsoft.

• Be part of the on-call rotation for maintaining service health.

• Design, implement, and refine chosen solutions in close partnership with Product Management and partner teams.

• Champion operational excellence via established metrics, process governance, and policy controls for regular assessment and improvement.

• Document and define existing data engineering processes, data and technology, while evaluating them for optimization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration

• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administrationo OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 2+ years of professional experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python etc.

• 2+ years of professional experience troubleshooting, investigating, and fixing production issues in large scale cloud and/or hosted environments.

• Experience writing code to automate day-to-day tasks.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with building infrastructure using Microsoft Azure technology.

• Experience writing product code in a major cloud service (C++, C# or Node.JS) including experience with algorithms, data structures, and software design.

• Skills in priority setting, analysis, time management, scheduling, and multitasking.

Site Reliability Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
