Our Team

Our Securities Credit teams are responsible for the timely and accurate entry of new bonds and loans being brought to market, secondary market review and updates, as well as extensive client facing support. In addition, responsibilities include developing new data pipelines, implementing data validations, reviewing processes for efficiencies, and finding opportunities to expand data sets. Our Capital Structure (CAST) & Debt Distribution (DDIS) Professionals work closely with internal stakeholders including the Engineering, Core Product, News and Enterprise.

What’s the role?

A Senior Data Management Professional (DMP) is a key role within our organization responsible for optimizing the value of our data for clients and improving our data operations. They act as technical leaders setting the strategy for data products, developing interconnected data models, designing data architectures, ensuring data quality, and using various techniques, including programming and statistical methods, to extract valuable insights from data. They are expected to be problem solvers, effective communicators, and versatile at balancing technical expertise with a product-focused approach. This role encompasses various specialty areas, including Data Engineering, Data Product Ownership, Data Modeling & Data Quality and requires a strong background in data management.

As a Data Management Professional for CAST & DDIS, you will use your domain expertise to manage and improve the financial data that feeds Bloomberg products, identify innovative workflow efficiencies, implement technical solutions to improve our systems, products and processes, and establish links with key players in the financial market.

You will use your market knowledge and experience to define what a fit-for-purpose data product looks like. You will work to plan and deliver the data modeling and technology strategy and roadmap which should align to the overall product vision.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Understand customer needs and markets to ensure our data sets are fit-for-purpose and to develop data product strategies

  • Use technical skill to evaluate and apply sound statistical methods, programming and machine learning approaches to promote and measure data quality, generate insights, and extract information

  • Develop interconnected data models that enable analysis across datasets

  • Analyze internal processes to find opportunities for improvement; devise and implement innovative solutions across datasets

  • Partner with Engineering and Product to propose, develop and implement market leading solutions for our clients

  • Make effective decisions in a fast-paced constantly evolving environment

  • Balance the best of technical and product knowledge to craft solutions for customers

You’ll need to have:

  • A BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant data technology field, or equivalent professional work experience

  • 4+ years of programming and scripting in a production environment (Python, Javascript,etc)

  • Demonstrated experience in employing a systematic approach to problem solving applying technical skills (including programming languages, data modeling and statistical methods)

  • Project management skills and ability to prioritize and adapt to tasks accordingly

  • Ability to use sound judgment to escalate issues as they arise

  • A passion and interest in financial and economic data with the aspiration to work in the financial/fintech services industry

  • Powerful collaboration skills to work across departments and with global teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We’d like to see:

  • A Master's degree in STEM related field

  • Previous work, internship and/or academic experience in data analysis, financial market research and/or information technology

  • Experience implementing high volume, low-latency ETL pipelines

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting fixed income documentation, understanding of finance and themes in the market

Salary Range: 110,000 - 170,000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
