Oracle Principal Solution Architect - Strategic Customer Engineering in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

As part of the Strategic Product and Customer Engagement Team, a Solutions Architect comes with a proven track record of solving customer challenges with a combination of software and cloud technologies. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate ability to focus on customers' needs - technical and strategic - and develop solutions in pursuit of customer objectives in complex situations and motivate and align those goals internally to deliver excellent customer experience.

This role requires deep technical expertise and understanding of cloud technologies, a strong sense of technical evangelism, a relentless commitment to long term customer success, as well as excellent communication and leadership abilities. The Principal Solutions Architect will work closely with customers and other team members to define project requirements, create detailed solution designs, and provide guidance and direction throughout the development process.

The ability to drive repeatable artifacts, and contribute to deliverables as a force multiplier is a critical skill for the Solution Architect role. As part of the SA community you will capture and share best practices with your peers, other teams such as Product Solutions Engineering, generate internal and external technical content, and participate in evangelist and workshop activities to grow the community.

Qualifications

  • Have a strong background in cloud technologies, and be able to demonstrate technical excellence when building scalable architectures.

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science (or related field)

  • Experience with HPC/AI/ML solution architectures and infrastructure preferred

  • At least 8-10 years of experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in a solutions architect or similar role

  • Strong technical skills, including expertise in at least one major cloud platforms and familiarity with a variety of technical platforms and architectures

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical challenges

  • Experience working with customers and managing customer relationships on an executive level

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with strategic customers to understand their business needs and technical requirements, and translate them into technical solutions

  • Lead the design and development of complex technical solutions that meet the needs of our customers across multiple service teams

  • Identify opportunities to help customers achieve their business goals, sometimes even before the customers identify these opportunities or gaps

  • Create detailed solution designs, including architecture diagrams and documentation

  • Provide guidance and direction to other team members throughout the development process

  • Act as a technical leader and mentor to other team members, helping to develop their skills and expertise

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies, and bring new ideas and approaches to the team

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of OCI's technical processes and standards

  • Manage customer relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for technical inquiries and concerns

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
