Are you interested in working on the future of the Amazon Search page, developing a holistic, highly personalized platform that both delights and informs our customers?

The Amazon Search page touches the lives of hundreds of millions of Amazon customers every day, helping customers formulate better searches, in turn leading to higher converting experiences and enabling serendipitous discovery of products. As a software development engineer, you will develop technology that transforms the Amazon Search page, worldwide and across all devices, into the next generation of shopping experience. You will be working closely with a team of applied scientists and engineers to build systems that shape the future of Amazon's shopping experience, utilizing the power of machine learning and reinforcement learning. All your work has a direct and visible impact on Amazon customers.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Palo Alto, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
