HealthFitness is hiring for a Program Manager to fill a fitness & community focused leadership role in Palm Beach, FL.

Program Manager, Palm Beach, FL

Fitness industry: Full-time role leading a small team & providing a high level of member & customer service onsite

As Program Manager, you'll manage and direct all operational, administrative, and programming aspects of the fitness facility within this small, community focused client site ensuring the highest level of participation, results achievement, and customer service. You will oversee strategic business planning, staff supervision, program design & facilitation, administrative tasks, contract compliance, and data analysis. If certified, may also provide personal training sessions or teach group exercise classes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, onboarding, training, evaluating, developing, and succession planning. Determines and assigns work assignments to ensure staff remains challenged and productivity is maximized. Promotes and encourages career growth.

  • Ensures staff is properly trained and holds HealthFitness approved certifications needed for safe and effective program delivery. Provides continuous feedback, coaching, and performance appraisals to ensure quality of all program and service delivery.

  • Leads staff meetings to ensure associates are informed about HealthFitness as well as onsite events, initiatives, and status.

  • Submits payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to policy.

  • Develops and implements the yearly strategic business plan. Prepares and manages operating budget.Ensures expenditures are made in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

  • Tracks participant and program data for measurement of goal achievement, outcomes, and results. Creates outcomes focused reports based on business plan goals and objectives.

  • Coordinates marketing and communications to maximize membership, utilization, and engagement. Supports and participates in community events, outreach, networking, and onsite special events.

  • Maintains accurate records and ensures confidentiality of data collected during health assessment and health promotion/membership activities in accordance with HealthFitness requirements.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.

  • 2+ years related experience including previous supervisory experience.

  • Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED certification (obtained in person or blended) from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required.

  • Ability to lead, manage and operate a community, recreation, or fitness center.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.

  • Ideal applicants with have a HealthFitness approved Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA and/or a HealthFitness approved Personal Training certification.
