The Root Cause Analyst Lead position is within the First Line of Defense Center of Excellence (FLOD COE) and will be responsible for managing and supporting cross-functional root cause analysis as well as providing technical consults. The person we are seeking must be self-motivated, analytical, with proven experience influencing and effectively communicating across the organization. He or she should have proven data analysis skills along with the ability to build relationships/partnerships and work cross-functionally to drive time sensitive deliverables and true root causes analysis.
Partner with SLOD to understand and help the business execute the PayPal RCA policy.
Ability to understand global business problems and complex business processes with the extended end to end point of view.
Work with global business partners and subject matter experts to analyze complex end to end processes to determine core root causes as well as assess impact across the business. Build expertise on data relevant to subject area.
Fluent in process systems and process analysis.
Fluent in complex technical systems and process analysis.
Ability to lead and facilitate global end to end discussions. Ability to connect processes across multiple complex silo business processes to determine handoff gaps and control weaknesses.
Strong technical communication skills that allow complex issues to be documented and assessed in a simplified understandable way. Ability to present results to senior leadership teams.
Ability to project manage multiple business programs across multiple global functional areas.
Comfortable prioritizing multiple incoming complex issues.
Ability to influence and help business partners understand and execute RCA. Ability to assist them in driving their processes to full root cause and subsequent impactful solutions.
Work with existing business analysts to identify relevant data and subsequently analyze the data to confirm root cause. Ability to pull multiple streams of data across multiple incidents/issues to identify core root causes as well as asses end to end impact.
Execute strong change management skills to help our business partner’s change their current status quo in terms of RCA and solutions.
Support special projects and initiatives: special projects vary from strategic initiatives to day to day operations. Support needs will vary by project and will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
Work with extremely talented peers in COE to ensure we are executing consistent root cause analysis across issues and incidents.
Execute true end to end root cause analysis with PX, P0, and P1 issues across multiple business processes and programs.
Provide root cause and business impact for complex multi-threaded issues.
Collaborate with SLOD to execute RCA policy.
Provide guidance/education/facilitation to assist business to help the business identify root causes, control gaps, as well as impactful solutions.
Lead/Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Proven ability to lead complex global project/process magement.
7-10+ years of process/root cause analysis.
Experience in financial services industry preferred.
BS/BA Degree or educational equivalent.
Fluent in process RCA skills.
Fluent in technical processes and products.
Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools is a plus.
Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, conscientious, thorough and accurate.
Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and client service oriented attitude and mindset.
Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation skills).
Proven ability to function well independently as well as in a team.
Ability to prioritize deliverables and projects to meet timelines efficiently, to adapt to changes in priorities quickly and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously to drive projects to completion and deliver quality materials under tight deadlines.
