The MiR team is looking for a highly motivated and strategic Application Engineer who will work collaboratively with the team as well as independently to determine and develop imaginative, thorough, and practical support and application solutions. This is a remote position. Our candidate will preferably live in the central or eastern US and within an hour from a major airport.

Responsibilities

  • Guide distributors, integrators, and global accounts to successfully deploy, commission, and integrate with MiR products and solutions.

  • Lead application design reviews including analysis, completing a report and presentation of findings/recommendations to customers

  • Provide expert level application support to our distributors, integrators (partners) and end-users during proof of concept and commissioning.

  • Serve as MiR’s technical lead for the deployed solution ensuring partners and end-users have the technical tools and MiR application support to enable successful implementation.

  • Support integration issues through end-customer acceptance.

  • Document processes and develop/instruct technical training

  • Interface internally with MiR sales, technical support and R&D teams

  • Leverage field experience and customer requirements to provide feedback to product management, software, and hardware engineering teams contributing towards continuous product improvement

  • Serve as the product and application expert. Drive new proof of concept case studies into the local market. Know and communicate the value proposition of our products.

  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to work towards common goals and navigate safely in a rapidly changing environment / priority

  • Achieve defined KPI’s.

    Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in industrial robotics or automation industry preferred

  • Experience with AGV or AMR systems and technical/application troubleshooting is a strong plus

  • Working knowledge of PLC controls and programming

  • Functional understanding in a programming language such as Linux, C++/Java/Python

  • WIFI network infrastructure and security knowledge and experience preferred

  • Experience with technical training, customer visits and relationship management.

  • Good communication skills, ability to transfer knowledge and a good understanding of cross-cultural differences

  • Some coursework or application experience in industrial robotics automation required.

  • Ability to handle internal and external customer issues tactfully and professionally

  • Enjoys complex problem-solving and collaboration.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechatronics or Engineering related subject preferred or relevant experience.
