JPMorgan Chase Treasury & Chief Investment Office - Resolution & Recovery Policy - Vice President in New York, New York

The Resolution & Recovery Policy team is a firmwide function responsible for Resolution & Recovery strategy and policy, key elements of the firmwide Resolution & Recovery capabilities testing framework, and overarching elements of the firm's resolution plans. The Resolution & Recovery Policy team, together with members of the broader Resolution & Recovery Program Management Office, are responsible for designing, managing, and delivering the Firm's Resolution plans, which demonstrate how the Firm would continue to operate when faced with material financial distress or failure of the company. Resolution Plans are required by the Firm's U.S. and international regulators.

As a Vice President within the team, you will have the opportunity to assume ownership for key deliverables and processes within the Resolution Planning function and a key role in the firm's Resolution and Recovery testing program. You will have the opportunity to gain broad exposure to teams throughout the Firm, to engage with senior management within Corporate Finance and the broader JPMorgan Chase organization. As a Vice President within the Resolution & Recovery Policy team, you will lead a variety of activities focused on development and ongoing enhancement of JPMorgan Chase's Global Title I and Insured Depository Institution (IDI) Resolution Plans as well as play a key role in the firm's internal testing of its capabilities around its resolution and recovery plans and capital and liquidity contingency actions. Prior experience in resolution or recovery planning or business resiliency is preferred but not required; however, a successful candidate should have approximately 5-7 years of experience in financial/capital markets, financial regulation or a related role. Experience leading projects in finance, operations, regulatory exams or related fields would position a candidate well to be successful in this role. Direct experience in managing large or complex deliverables and producing high-quality, client-facing materials (e.g., presentations, quantitative and qualitative analysis) is also a plus. This role will interact with senior management across disciplines and be responsible for maintaining relationships across several business and support areas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the Firm's Resolution Plan as well as current and evolving regulatory requirements relating to resolution planning.

  • Assume ownership for key resolution planning deliverables (for both Title I and IDI Resolution Plans) and interface with teams across the Firm to ensure successful delivery.

  • Provide support in planning, executing and assessing of results for our Firmwide Resolution and Recovery tabletop testing exercises.

  • Provide support in maintaining the firm's list of capital and liquidity contingency actions, including documentation and testing of those actions.

  • Lead Resolution plan enhancement initiatives through developing relationships across the organization, collaborating to define required work, and driving change as necessary.

  • Provide support in developing positions and advocacy strategies on proposed regulatory policies.

  • Produce quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of regulatory policy positions.

  • Prepare executive level presentations for senior leaders to use with both internal and external stakeholders on a range of resolution-related policy issues.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities

  • 5+ years in financial/capital markets, financial regulation, business resiliency or a related role.

  • Experience and interest in the regulatory environment for financial services.

  • Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and influence across a broad organizational landscape and at multiple management levels in order to ensure alignment of teams to program objectives.

  • Ability to take ownership for assigned deliverables and proactively manage them to timely completion (escalating when appropriate) to ensure objectives are met.

  • Experience creating high-quality presentation content for senior audiences and conveying succinct analysis and conclusions in presentation materials.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to proactively ask questions and seek feedback on deliverables as required.

  • Ease working across a range of complex issues; ability to learn new topics quickly and move between subjects.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities

  • Prior experience in a project or program management role with an understanding of project management processes and governance is preferred.

  • Experience in resolution or recovery planning or supporting other regulatory programs is a plus.
