This is a full-time engineering role based in Sunnyvale, CA.

ML Foundations SRE plays a pivotal role in the AI first roadmap at LinkedIn. We work closely with AI platform engineers and infrastructure teams to build and scale the next gen AI Infra with high availability, observability and efficiency. Our mission is to enable massive growth of AI at LinkedIn in a reliable and efficient manner.

We are seeking a Staff engineer who can help us develop and expand our top-notch AI infrastructure at LinkedIn. In this role, you would transform the GPU based AI infrastructure for the training and serving of cutting-edge ML models and improve the stack to handle Linkedin scale. You should be eager to advance the AI infrastructure to enhance observability, efficiency, availability and evolve the architecture to suit Linkedin needs, ensuring preparedness for the future, and fostering cooperation across different teams within the organization.

Responsibilities

-Build scalable AI infrastructure and improve the observability, availability and efficiency with a

focus on Site stability and security.

-Work closely with and influence AI and/or technology partners regularly to help define a

roadmap.

-Own the technical strategy for broad or complex requirements with insightful and forward-

looking approaches that go beyond the direct team and solve large open-ended problems.

-Participate in design and code reviews to maintain our high development standards.

-Partner with peers, leads and partners to define, scope, prioritize, and build impactful features

at a high velocity.

-Deliver incremental impact by driving innovation while iteratively building and shipping

software at scale.

-Mentor other engineers, define our culture, and grow talent in the team.

-Diagnose technical problems, debug in production environments, and automate routine tasks.

Basic Qualifications

-BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical

experience.

-4+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related

solutions.

-4+ years experience programming in languages such as Java, Python, Go, Rust etc

-Hands-on experience developing and operating distributed systems, large-scale systems,

databases and/or Backend APIs.

Preferred Qualifications

-BS and 8+ years of relevant work experience, MS and 7+ years of relevant work experience,

or PhD and 4+ years of relevant work experience.

-Experience in architecting, building, and running large-scale distributed systems.

-Experience with Machine Learning, optimization algorithms, Big Data and Deep Learning.

-Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code, and automate routine tasks.

-Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership.

-Experience in building and scaling AI infrastructure.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $144,000-$235,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
