RELX INC Operations Manager I in Manila, Philippines

The Operations Manager is entrusted with the responsibility of guiding and supervising the team to ensure meticulous and efficient execution of tasks while aligning with the strategic objectives of the business. This pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the teams, including resource management to maximize utilization of available resources. Proficiency across all aspects of operations is imperative for success in this position. By adeptly managing resources and providing strategic direction, the Operations Manager plays a crucial role in driving the team towards achieving key business objectives while upholding standards of operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

  • Directs/Manages activities of the operations, utilizing new and established monitoring programs and procedures to ensure all work is completed according to established policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Reviews and evaluates work of the department and prepares performance reporting/evaluations, which can extend to validating individual productivity and work quality using trackers and monitoring tools.

  • Resolve issues including but not limited to personnel, business and technical issues and create an environment that fosters both employee development and organizational growth.

  • Confers and advises supervisors on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and method.

  • Develop supervisors and staff; providing leadership guidance and coaching, mentoring and assessment to develop our talent and help individuals reach their potential.

  • Manages the work efforts of supervisors with the responsibility of performance appraisals and pay reviews.

  • Conduct weekly team performance reviews with supervisors and/or stakeholders.

  • Review, develop and implement process improvements, departmental goals, and objectives. Make recommendations to enhance current procedures and policies to improve and maintain their effectiveness.

  • Participate in business related meetings and follow up on discussion items related to area of responsibility.

  • Represent department on cross-functional project teams.

  • Conduct regular monthly operations review and quarterly business review to key stakeholders.

  • Engage and align with stakeholders' business strategies, operational management, policies.

  • Ensure the services provided by the team to stakeholders and customers are within or above the set targets for quality, efficiency, and cost-effective performance.

  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in any field

  • Remote team management skills required

  • Ability to learn quickly, check details, meet deadlines and grasp product and process are business requirements to be able to effectively manage operations and assist in process improvement initiatives

  • Highly experienced in effective people management, coaching, motivating, coordinating, and providing guidance to teams and/or individuals involved in servicing customer or content operations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and can easily build and sustain trust-based relationships with all levels of the organization. Demonstrate solid leadership skills in building enterprise value as an indispensable business partner.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, project management and delegation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to identify missing information, errors, trends, and areas of concern

  • 5 years of related experience in managerial role
