Role Summary

The Legal Entity Control team work on a range of projects, regulatory and statutory reporting and control functions. The team is charged with ensuring the Group meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global and regulated Group to listed company standards.

The purpose of this role is to be a key member of existing Legal Entity Control function and ensure the integrity of the Group's entity's financial information, facilitate the Group's consolidation and offer analytical support.

The LEC Team is part of the Marex Finance Team, which is part of the Control and Support functions of Marex.

Overall Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with the company's authorisation under the FCA

  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.

  • At all times complying with the FCA's Code of Conduct

Specific duties:

The major duties / deliverables of Legal Entity Control team for which the Head of LEC would be responsible are:

  • Preparation of annual financial statements for all active entities audited through Deloitte London and under various accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, Singapore GAAP, Hong Kong GAAP);

  • Preparation of monthly analytical reviews of all legal entities focusing on income statement and balance sheet;

  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts to external stakeholders (Primary Statements);

  • Support the monthly close process, including elimination and consolidation process at a Group level;

  • Documenting of processes and controls in LEC area of operation;

  • Preparation of monthly transfer pricing calculations and subsequent reporting;

  • Support the Balance Sheet Substantiation process and review and challenge balance sheet reconciliations;

  • Support legal entity initiatives within the Group (including acquisitions) and involvement in projects impacting the legal entities; and

  • Preparation of monthly management reports, including Board meetings;

  • Ensure controls and processes are properly documented and operating;

  • Work closely within the Finance Team: Product Control, FP&A, Regulatory, Tax, Strategy and Treasury;

  • Involvement in developing, re-engineering and improving existing processes through exposure to key Group projects;

  • Manage ad hoc inquiries from external auditors;

  • Preparation of technical accounting papers for external auditors;

Skills and Experience

  • Big 4 experience is preferable – qualified accountant trained under IFRS

  • Experience in preparation of audited financial statements under IFRS

  • Strong analytical, organisation and documentation skills

  • Intermediate/Advances Excel skills

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

  • Background in financial services is preferable

  • Proven track record of delivering in your roles and on large projects

  • Experience in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in accounting systems e.g. Oracle based application
