The Multicolor Press Operator will be responsible for setting up and running, as well as performing basic maintenance for the following machines: Sheet-fed 6/c 40-inch press: Mitsubishi D3000 to half size sheet-fed presses: Ryobi 755XL, Heidelberg SM52 and Q46 to include a 2/c Halm Super Jet envelope press. The Press Operator continues to learn upon assignment to set-up and operate the lines of associated equipment to become a more skillful and versatile operator. This is a second shift role with work hours usually fall between the hours of 3:00pm - 11:00 am, Monday - Friday with overtime as needed during peak business times. Initial training may take place during first shift if needed. Other schedules may be available depending on candidate and company needs. Compensation & Benefits - Starting Pay: $21.00-27.00+/hour 100% Company-Paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long-Term Disability Premiums Up to 13 days of PTO within your first year, as well 6 Paid Holidays 401(k) with an immediate 2:1 Match, plus an automatic 2% contribution from company 6 Weeks of Paid Parental Leave Essential Duties & Responsibilities Acquire the job folder and review it for the specifications or special instructions that may impact the operation or setting up of the equipment. Follow routine procedures in the setting up and in the operation of the equipment. Review the quality of the product continuously to meet the standard that is required. Maintain the required records with quantities, quality, and any other required information. Cross-train and learn the lines of associate equipment. Assist in the training of employees new to the department. Maintain both the press equipment and immediate area. Report unusual conditions or circumstances to the supervisor or the person in charge. Work on job assignments in other manufacturing areas as needed. Record retention and logging time into software for job costing and time tracking Read Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs). Sees to proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals. Operate or assist on other pressroom equipment and presses if needed and when workload permits. Assist in cleaning up and keeping immediate work area neat and orderly. Make final pre-run inspection of job and approves or confers with supervisor for approval. Responsible for quality of printed work with defined levels of authority. Make job ready and adjust print quality, registration, color settings and PMS color match and mixings. Operate or direct operation of printing press to print in accordance with job orders. Monitor pH and conductivity of fountain solution on offset press. Comply with all OSHA safety requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Mechanical skills and experience preferred: Machine set up, operation and maintenance Set up and fine tune of the cutting programs during operation. Set and monitor equipment to ensure quality of finished product. Change and adjust equipment as needed. Inspect working parts and be able to recognize those that need replacement.
