WATTS Senior Product Manager (m/w/d) in Landau, Germany

Are you also interested in product management from idea to end-of-life? We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to join our Fluid Solutions South Team in Landau in der Pfalz, Germany. The Senior Product Manager is the entrepreneurial manager of a product portfolio, with the goal of long-term customer satisfaction, competitive advantage, market share growth and increased profitability. She/He is responsible for managing the product life cycle, from ideation to end-of-life and is accountable for all aspects of the business without having direct authority over the resources required to “make it happen.” She/He thrives in working together with many different people and cultures and works in a cross functional team operating as project leader for both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities and Duties: ​

  • The Senior Product Manager defines our portfolio of product platforms, concepts and/or product features and turns them into commercial product opportunities to grow a profitable business

  • She/He gathers and prioritizes product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and working closely with engineering and sales teams to deliver winning products. Holds others accountable for all deliverables related to product initiatives

  • Closely collaborate with engineering on technical development to ensure requirements are met within the cost and schedule targets

  • Closely collaborate with sales to define correct channels of distribution to optimize market coverage

  • Know and understand customer needs through Sales, customer visits, research and market intelligence

  • Build solid business cases in collaboration with Sales Teams and gain consensus on them.Be responsible for customers’ requirements specifications, value proposition, product positioning, pricing, launch strategies and market introduction

  • Ensure that product specifications meet and exceed market requirements and manage them across data and platforms

  • Be the customer advocate, define the customer value proposition that is sustainable and differentiated, be the resident expert on the competition, a thought leader passionate about creating value for customers

  • Make-or-buy analysis and decisions

  • Assess competition by comparing products and applications understanding competitive landscape and strategic positioning

  • Self-starter with ability to lead large scale projects and build new products from the ground up. Can interpret complex data, make data-driven decisions and explain them clearly at any level

  • Clean up portfolio to reduce complexity and company costs

  • D evelop, maintain and win acceptance of roadmaps that define product lines strategy, platforms that are flexible and meet the needs of various customer segments

  • Interact with key customers of different channels to scan current, future and unspoken requirements

  • Determine competitive advantages and key success factors

  • Support product training and other sales enablement activities

  • Help organize and participate in local and international exhibitions/shows

  • Interface with MarCom, engineering, manufacturing and sales departments

    Qualifications:

  • ​ Bachelor Degree in Engineering, MS/MBA highly preferred or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years’ experience in a similar role in Commercial Water or HVAC or BAS industry in an international environment

  • Able to set priorities, cope with stress and deadlines

  • Proven track record in delivering results and/or managing new product introduction and product lifecycle

  • Combine business acumen with technical insights

  • Leadership skills, detail and process oriented, multi tasker, commercial driven

  • Excellent team-player with a great attitude as team-leader in a multicultural environment

  • Ability to perform on strategic and tactical level maintaining focus and accountabilty

  • Proactively identifies and address issues to avoid surprises

  • Strong organizational and planning skills: attention to details without losing the broader vision

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in any context and at any level

  • Proficiency in personal computer tools and in Microsoft office tools

  • Fluency in English is required, both oral and written
