We are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join our Engineering team in India and help with the design, development and evolution of ModMed's Integrations and Interoperability Healthcare offerings.

The Role:

• Write code that captures essential nature of the solution and is flexible, reusable, efficient, and adaptable to changing requirements

• Look for ways to reduce toil and tech debt

• Independently design software components which are maintainable, testable, debuggable, and have logical APIs that are not easily misused

• Proactively identify and address issues and tech dependencies of project

• Ensure high code quality in code reviews and adopt approaches (e.g., set up best practices and coding standards, help resolve differences of opinions)

• Strong awareness of the ecosystem of tools and libraries supporting primary programming language and development environment. Strong grasp of the idioms and patterns of that language. May be intimately familiar with the open source community surrounding it

• Know when to make significant refactors and when to leave things as-is

• Mastery of building automated testing at component level

• Self-sufficient in at least one area of the codebase with a high-level understanding of other components.

• Provide support for your area including components you may not be familiar with.

• Give timely, helpful feedback to peers and managers.

• Understand how your work fits into the larger project and identify issues with requirements

• Advise QA on adjacent code/regression impact

• Take the initiative to fix issues before they escalate

• Mentor junior engineers via pair programming, design reviews and code reviews

• Contribute frequently to departmental Lunch and Learn / Tech Talk programs

• Communicate effectively across functions and is able to work well with other functional areas

• Proactively identify problems/risks with requirements for their own work and adjacent work, and communicate these issues early to help course-correct

• Responsible for end-to-end ownership and completion of complex tasks with minimal guidance as part of a team

• Persistent in the face of roadblocks, dealing with them efficiently and pulling in others as necessary

• Strive to make accurate estimates and deliver high-quality software by project deadline

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelors degree preferred.

• 6+ years of iOS development experience.

• Strong Swift development skills.

• Experience with Objective-C

• Excellent communication; teamwork; detailed-oriented

• Strong problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership.

• Strong commitment to quality, architecture, and documentation.

• Experience with Agile methodologies or related iterative development processes is a plus.

• Demonstrated use and knowledge of design patterns is a plus.

• Research technical problems and suggests improvements for all iOS applications
