We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to help us strengthen our world class risk prevention and mitigation systems in order to successfully combat cybercrime. In this versatile role, you will be responsible for helping shape the future of mission critical risk systems. You will be collaborating closely with engineering, product and operations to design and develop features for our highly complex and heavily distributed risk environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain business-critical risk systems

  • Work with a variety of stakeholders across the whole business to ensure that our systems meet our reliability, accuracy, and performance goals

  • Deliver software development tasks efficiently and with high quality

  • Identify and fix performance, scalability, and other issues in a time-critical environment

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional Java experience with emphasis on core Java API and open source packages

  • Solid multi-threaded programming experience

  • Solid object-oriented design and programming background

  • Functional programming knowledge

  • Experience with noSQL solutions e.g. Cassandra, MongoDB, Elastic Search, Hadoop Neo4J, Redis

  • Experience with service oriented architecture and REST based web service development. Sound API design and knowledge of HTTP principles is vital

  • Experience with Spring framework

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, JSON and XML

  • Knowledge of message brokers like RabbitMQ

  • Proficient working on UNIX systems

  • Ability to turn requirements into successful technical solutions

  • Logical thinker with sound analytical skills

  • Passion for developing code by writing effective mock, unit and integration tests

  • Good understanding of open source frameworks and when to use them and when not to use them

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to work effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization

  • Experience in troubleshooting applications using Unix tools, Splunk and common sense

  • Eager to search and explore new libraries and technologies as opposed to reinventing the wheel

  • Relentless attention to detail
