Insight Global Purchasing Manager in Grand Prairie, Texas

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Purchasing Manager to work for a client in Dallas, TX who is a leading leather supplier for the aviation interiors industry. Additionally they offer a host of value added processes such as: decorative quilting, stitching, embroidery, printing, embossing, laser etching, perforating, cut to pattern, etc. Aside form typical purchasing tasks, the individual most importantly is our liaison to our manufacturing partners in Italy. The individual will have to work closely with our quality team to understand how to properly address and follow up on action items pertaining to our core suppliers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Purchases goods and services according to the company's policies and procedures.

· Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.

· Drafts, explains, and implements instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management.

· Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.

· Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.

· Coordinates with managers and policies to maintain inventory levels.

· Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.

· Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.

· Prepares and presents market conditions and merchandise cost reports.

· Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.

· Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.

· Resolves grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

· Maintains and/or implements purchasing and recordkeeping systems.

· Acts as the company representative in negotiations with suppliers.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

3-5 + years of experience Purchasing Manager or in a similar function role

ERP systems knowledge

Experience in Aerospace or Aviation industry

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.

· Ability to collect and compile relevant data.

· Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically.

· Strong business analysis and communication skills.

· Works well independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to handle databases and understand technology-driven business intelligence tools Aviation industry experience

Proficient with Dynamic 365, Microsoft AX, or Salesforce null
