A typical day for the Solutions Engineer will include:
Focusing on ensuring merchants make the most of Braintree’s product and technologies to create next-generation payments experiences for their customers.
This is a highly collaborative, and multi-faceted team which sees us meeting regularly with Europe’s biggest merchants and coordinating with internal teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible in payments.
Principally, your role will involve leveraging your payments experience and technical expertise to define and scope optimal payments processing capabilities for prospective and existing online merchants
What does Success Look Like:
Working closely with our sales team to engage merchants on a product and technology basis, evangelising for Braintree’s products and services and adding value throughout the sales cycle (from discovery to go-live)
Driving merchant payments projects, managing complex timelines and cross-functional dependencies
Guiding our merchants and their teams through technical integration, and helping to ensure they create optimal payments experiences for their customers, factoring in: conversion, UX, fraud & risk, acceptance rates, and general best practice
Analysing transactional data to optimise payment flows
Conducting technical workshops – often on-location with merchants’ technical, product and finance teams
Providing ongoing guidance and recommendations through proactive outreach and data analysis
Collaborating with internal stakeholders (sales, account management, merchant success, product & data teams)
Providing useful context and insights to internal teams and driving knowledge-sharing initiatives through effective forms of communication
General web development experience – familiarity with HTML, JS/ES6, CSS, Github, basic backend programming (PHP, Python, .NET)
Experience integrating with third party services and API’s
Basic mobile development experience (iOS, Android)
Previous payments experience (primarily in card processing, but alternative & proprietary payment methods a plus)
General familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Magento, Demandware, etc.)
Project management experience and familiarity with project management tools (Asana, Trello)
Great skills building UI/UX mockups & flow diagrams
Excellent presentation and communication skills – familiarity with presentation tools (Keynote, PowerPoint)
Big bonus: data analytics experience (especially using Looker, Sumologic, Redshift)
