EKG Technician – Cardiology Associates of Schenectady – Glenville, NY – FT

What you will do:

Performs electrocardiograms on all age populations on a routine and emergent basis in an out-patient setting. Responsible for the performance and processing of EKG's including logging, charging, editing and distribution acts as a resource for hospital personnel on EKG performance.

Responsibilities:

  • EKG PERFORMANCE

  • Identifies patient using 2 patient identifiers

  • Positions patient properly

  • Preps area

  • Enters all required data

  • Obtains satisfactory EKG tracing

  • Transmits EKG

  • Follows critical incident reporting guidelines.

  • PROCESSING

  • Logs all EKG's

  • Performs A2K charging accurately and within time standards

  • Edits EKG's

  • Identify unsatisfactory EKG's and reports to appropriate individual

  • Responds to requests from other departments, MD offices, etc.

  • EKG MACHINE

  • Ensures transmission of EKG machines

  • Maintains cleanliness, stocking of machines

  • Ensures backup of EKG management system

  • Reports equipment malfunction immediately to appropriate resources (Bio-med, manufacturer, other staff)

  • Other duties as assigned

What you will need:

  • EKG certification

  • 1 year patient care experience preferably busy medical office practice.

  • High School Diploma

  • Basic Life Support Certification

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs

Pay Range: $18.50 - $26.85

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
