How you will make an impact:

Materials Sciences & Analytical Division (MSD) is part of the Analytical Instruments Group (AIG), and supplies innovative solutions for microscopy, spectroscopy, and microanalysis. Using scanning and transmission electron microscopes, DualBeam™ FIB-SEMs, and spectrometers, combined with sophisticated software suites. Our customers can combine high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical, and electrical analysis to go from questions to usable data. Our solutions enable customers to push the boundaries of efficiency and innovation. Our global operations cover 12 different factories, and also includes a Technical Support department to deliver a consistent service to our customers.

We seek a dedicated person with good analysis and communication skills. This role will be a key contributor supporting Sourcing initiatives to drive standard work, improve analytics and savings initiatives. In addition, this role will partner with all Supply Chain functions and will support decision making process with accurate analytics, identify and implement operational improvements in execution and develop a strong collaboration also around Transportation & Inventory management (including Excess & Obsolescence).

What you will do:

You will support the further development of the finance function to become a valued business partner. Below some important tasks that will go along with the role:

  • Supports the Procurement team with financial data on topics like in New Product Introductions, Vendor Owned Management Inventory, Value Engineering, and similar projects,

  • Support the processes to maintain governance around various savings and inflation initiatives in Procurement team,

  • Support and analyze trends while reviewing OpEx spend, helping to provide accurate guidance for forecasting of Purchase Price Variances, and OpEx cost centers.

  • Support data analytics and scorecards to provide transparency to Inventory and Days of Supply trends and performance,

  • Support the build and analysis of operational metrics across all different logistics flows, and provide clarity on trends and performance,

  • Support the analysis of standard costs against actual costs, and liaise with procurement team to discuss trends and performance.

How you will get here :

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business-related field required

Experience

  • Good finance skills

  • Background in Finance, preferably in a complex manufacturing industry

  • Understanding in supporting Sales & Operations Planning cycles

  • Understanding of Inventory Control and Logistics flows at global scale

  • Comfortable to work with and bring structure to different sets of data

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools and consolidation systems is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Good spoken and written communication skills are required to collaborate with various partners.

  • Able to deliver effective presentations and understands and deploys the best tools / methods to effectively communicate complex topics

  • High proficiency in creating analytical models using Excel

  • Self-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job done

Travel requirements

  • < 20% domestic/international travel required
