In this position...

Support core accounting close for Ford Credit Insurance Accounting. Oversee the accounting for Ford Pro Insure products and miscellaneous insurance products (e.g., reinsurance).

What you'll do...

• Review the monthly Ford Pro Insure insurance reporting packages and communicate issues/findings, prepare corresponding journal entries, and execute wire transfers between managing general agent and Ford.

• Support the implementation and testing of Ford Pro Insure system with IT team.

• Support the monthly/quarterly/annually accounting close: prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Prepare quarterly and annually statutory journal entries and statutory schedules required to be filed with the Insurance Statutory Statement in the U.S. and Canada.

• Coordinate with the actuary team on reserves, the reinsurance team on cession payments, and the corporate strategy team on investment activity.

• Research U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting guidance for applicability to Insurance entities.

• Key interactions: Internal management on both the Ford Credit and Ford Motor, auditors, third party vendors

• Key systems: HFM, SAP, SmartView, Excel

• Growth opportunities: learn Ford Credit (banking and Insurance) business.

• Accounting degree and experience in accounting preferred

• Strong financial, analytical, and accounting skills with ability to manage complex excel spreadsheets

• Strong people skills/collaboration to support interfacing with various functional teams

• Good communication and presentation skills

• Shows initiative, self-driven, ability to prioritize and advance multiple assignments simultaneously

• Process improvement mindset
