EquipmentShare is Hiring a Legal Strategy Counsel

EquipmentShare is searching for a Legal Strategy Counsel for our corporate office in Columbia, MO, to support our team as the department continues to grow.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and present alternative strategies and options, with an emphasis on novel and aggressive approaches to legal disputes and questions to ensure matters are being addressed through a process of creative friction designed to identify the most advantageous solutions for the Company.

  • Review existing strategies and procedures, identify areas for possible improvement, implement improvements in consultation with other members of the Legal team, and disseminate knowledge to team members and leadership.

  • Provide advice based on the appropriate balance of risk mitigation and business interests on a real-time basis, serving as a resource for the Legal team and Company management.

  • Help develop/recommend risk management policies and operating procedures to address specific company and industry legal issues.

  • Excellent judgment, integrity, and the highest ethical standards.

  • Ability to identify problems or inefficiencies and independently offer/implement practical solutions.

    Skills & Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney with significant experience representing clients at trial, before regulatory commissions and in other adversarial settings.

  • Requires membership in a State Bar as an attorney qualified to practice law in the State and must remain in good standing with the State Bar including being current on any applicable Continuing Legal Education requirements.

  • Significant experience advising clients on complex business matters.

  • Significant litigation and dispute resolution experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of balancing legal, quality, and business risk management objectives - distinguishing between risk mitigation and risk elimination.
